Ambassador Jones visits the American Corner Yaffo (ACY)
and hosts "Victor J. Goldberg IIE Prize for Peace in the Middle East" Ceremony at the Arab Jewish Community Center Yaffo
Ambassador Richard Jones visited the American Corner Yaffo before honoring recipients of the second annual IIE/Victor J. Goldberg Prize for Peace in the Middle East -- Mr. Ibrahim Abu-Shindi and Ms. Hadas Kaplan, Directors of the Arab Jewish Community Center Yaffo (ACCY), and partners in establishing the ACY. The prize was established to recognize outstanding work being conducted jointly by two individuals to advance the cause of peace in the Middle East. A prestigious international committee judged the ACCY to be the most successful project in bringing people together and breaking down the barriers of hatred toward "the other," and selected Mr. Abu-Shindi and Ms. Kaplan to receive the prestigious award.
